We work with partners in country to develop a species recovery plan and a five year project plan, including community involvement and benefits
We ensure accurate baseline information is in place to guide species recovery and to monitor project progress, including socio-economic measures where relevant
We design a monitoring plan for the project, and provide templates for species monitoring and adaptive management
We provide training on monitoring and evaluation as needed
We ensure that project impacts are monitored and reported to the funder
We ensure that the impacts of the project on the species are reported on BGCI’s global tree conservation tracking tool
We ensure that project impact is recognised as part of a country’s contribution to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, SDGs, and other relevant frameworks
We ensure that partners are integrated in to BGCI’s regional and technical networks
We support development of the partner so they can expand their conservation role in the future, e.g. through BGCI’s Advanced Conservation Practitioner Accreditation Scheme
We build awareness of the conservation role of the institution with national government, if needed
